In 2022, the Japanese government announced the Battery Industry Strategy to accelerate the development of the battery industry, proposing that the global battery production capacity will reach 600Gwh/year by 2030, and providing institutional safeguards for the establishment of a global battery industry alliance, recycling and utilisation, and the creation of a safe and sustainable global supply chain for batteries.
