The First Power Battery Cascade Product Certification Makes the "Golden Brand" of Jiangsu Huayou Energy Shine

On 26th March, the certification ceremony of power battery recycling products for new energy vehicles was held in Tianjin. Jiangsu Huayou Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Jiangsu Huayou Energy") was awarded the first domestic product certificate for the secondary utilisation of power batteries for new energy vehicles, marking the formal implementation of the product certification system for the secondary utilisation of power batteries for new energy vehicles in China and fully demonstrating the positive role of quality certification in guaranteeing product quality and safety, and serving economic and social development. The certification ceremony was hosted by the Secretariat of the Technical Committee of New Energy Vehicle Power Battery Recycling Product Certification and China Auto Research Huacheng Certification (Tianjin) Co.

According to the statistics of China New Energy Vehicle Power Battery Recycling Industry Cooperative Development Alliance, in 2023, China produced 168,000 tonnes of retired power batteries, a year-on-year increase of 78.3%. By the end of 2023, the country had generated a total of 449,000 tonnes of retired power batteries, of which nearly 60% were generated in the past two years. It is expected that by 2030, China will generate more than 1 million tonnes of retired power batteries annually. The construction of a sustainable resource recycling system is related to the future healthy development of the new energy vehicle market.

 

China's retired power battery cascade utilisation market shows a diversified development trend, power supply in the communication base station, energy storage, low-speed power and other scenes have initially achieved commercial operation and rapidly developed at the forefront of the world. However, due to the more varieties of gradient products and diverse application scenarios, there is still a lack of standardised requirements for product safety, performance, quality and after-sales service.

Bao Wei, General Manager of Jiangsu Huayou Energy, said that the company has been committed to building a highly safe and low-carbon power battery whole-scene gradient utilisation solution, taking the lead in the industry to realise the end-to-end digital management of decommissioned batteries, including "recycling - sorting - R&D - manufacturing - operation - monitoring", and to build a comprehensive assessment database and a graded assessment model for decommissioned batteries, adopting heterogeneous compatibility and active assessment models, and using heterogeneous compatibility and proactive management. New energy automobile power battery recycling product certification is a voluntary product certification system implemented by the state. 2023 March, the General Administration of Market Supervision and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly issued the "Announcement on Carrying out New Energy Automobile Power Battery Recycling Product Certification Work"; October, CNCA issued the "Implementation Rules for New Energy Automobile Power Battery Recycling Product Certification"; the "Stationary Recycling Battery ( CNCA: EBEU-01:2023); by the end of 2023, the first phase of the construction of the certification system for the stepwise utilisation of power batteries will be basically completed.
